Once more, welcome to the GANGSTA. Wiki Anonymous user! There are very few policies which apply across all of Wikia; the ones that do can be found at their Policy Category.

Try to approach the rules, regulations and policies with a little common sense; most of them are self-explanatory so try and adhere to the spirit rather than the lettering of the rules, and be prepared to break the rules on the rare occasion when they conflict with the goal of improving the wiki XD

General Rules & Regulations
Don't vandalise current pages. Continued vandalism will result in a block.
No offensive pages with sexual/vulgar language or racist remarks.
Don't make pointless pages. If you see one, put the {{Delete}} tag on.
Please respect neutrality.
We don't mind whether you spell in British English or American English.
Please don't comment on closed discussions.

Ways to stay neutral
Try not to only provide one point of view, but all relevant viewpoints as necessary.
Support your article with actual facts.
Use a reliable source.

Just like the Twilights of Ergastulum, on the GANGSTA. Wiki we too have three principles that we'd like for the wiki community to abide by!

This policy is for understanding what to do in situations in the event of a contradiction between the Manga and the Anime.

Anime Policy
Manga Ranks 1st: Manga is considered the Primary Source Material, as it is written and drawn by the series creator Kohske. As such, the Manga always takes precedence over the Anime.
Anime Ranks 2nd: Anime is considered the Secondary Source Material, as it is using characters, story material and background based on the works of Kohske with her support. However anime information is not to be discarded. In most cases the information presented in the anime version of the series is manga based material (thus it is canonical).
Extended Content: In the event of situations in the anime being extended and featuring material that was not in the manga (such as extended fights and storyline used to flesh out the story for TV viewing of manga based material), are generally allowed (as long as it is referenced that they are only depicted in the anime).
Manga in the Anime: In the event that Manga-based characters are involved in an anime only context, which reveals information about them and their backstory. If Kohske does not confirm if said information is canonical or not, then it is down to the wiki community to determine whether information should be added or not. In the event that the information is in conflict, then manga-based information does take precedence as usual.

Discussion is an important part of any wiki and is used for sociable chattering as well as to discuss any improvements to a page. Discussion should be used before making major changes to articles, changing profile images, or moving a page. These rules are in regards to page comments and the Forums.

Page Comments and Forum Rules
No Abuse: At all. We generally accept swearing and cursing, but it will not be tolerated if targeted at another user. Zero tolerance also goes for disgustingly sexual/vulgar, blatantly racist or overtly sexist comments.
No Flaming: Try to be polite at all times to users here. Refrain from condescension, hostility or insulting other users just because they disagree with your opinion.
No Trolling: Of any kind... please... even if you feel a user has trolled, let the admins and thread mods deal with it rather than respond in kind. Trolling is basically saying things you know will incite other members until they become annoyed. You are allowed to disagree but do not deliberately bait others as it is an indirect attack.
No Spamming: If a user has asked a question and they have got an answer, there is no need to make fun of them or spam the comment section with things that contribute nothing to anything. If a discussion is over let it lie unless you want to build upon the actual topic.
Refrain From Reviving Dead Threads: This is more common sense than an actual rule, but it still needs to be mentioned. Comment chains and threads that haven't had a reply in a month or two months can be left alone and are considered dead; in terms of threads, they can be closed by an admin or thread mod. There is generally no need to revive an ancient thread since many who have posted may not be around anymore.
Refrain From Repeatedly Cloning Threads: If you want to post a topic then try to make an effort to see if a discussion was recently created about it as your question may have been answered there and you can also build upon an existing discussion with your own insight.

The GANGSTA. Wiki uses a pretty common article layout for character pages, chapter pages etc.

Headings should have the first letter of every word capitalised, except for prepositions (i.e. "of" or "in"). These headings should appear in this order if they are needed in an article:

Characters[]

For characters, the following headings (and sub-headings) should be used in this order if needed:

  • Appearance
  • Personality
  • Background†
  • Plot
  • Relationships†
  • Abilities
    • Weapons†
  • Quotes
  • Trivia
  • References

The Background section should be filled with information regarding the history of the character. If no history for the character is known, then the Background heading does not need to be added.
The Relationships section is not completely necessary but can be added if enough information relating to a relationship between two characters is known.
The Weapons sub-section only needs to be added if the character consistently uses a known or signature weapon.

Chapters and Episodes[]

Chapter pages and Episode pages are structured quite similarly.

Chapter Pages[]

For chapter pages, the following headings should be used in this order:

  • Full Synopsis
  • Characters

A brief synopsis of the chapter is written above the Full Synopsis heading, and then the full synopsis of the chapter is written in the Full Synopsis section. In the Characters section, the characters that appeared in the chapter are listed inside a {{Scroll Box}} in the order that they appeared.

Episode Pages[]

For episode pages, the the following headings should be used in this order:

  • Gallery
  • Characters

The title of the episode is put in bold and then a moderately sized synopsis of the episode is added afterwards. In the Characters section, the characters that appeared in the chapter are listed inside a {{Scroll Box}} in the order that they appeared.

A Trivia heading can be added to either chapter or episode pages when relevant.

Blocking is the method by which administrators can prevent certain users from editing the wiki. Blocks are used to prevent damage or disruption, not to punish users. Blocks are generally used as a deterrent, to discourage whatever behaviour led to the block and encourage a productive editing environment.

Any user may request another user to be blocked for major incidents of vandalism or disruption by reporting the incident to an admin. Users requesting blocks should give credible evidence of the circumstances warranting a block. Admins are never obliged to place a block and are free to investigate the situation themselves. Because blocks may be reviewed and appealed, it is often important that the blocking and reviewing admins each communicate with and take care to inform others.

Blocked users can appeal their blocks by making a statement on their talk page. Except in cases of unambiguous error, admins should not undo other admin's blocks without prior discussion.

Reasons Leading To A Block[]

User accounts and IP addresses may be blocked for:

  • Constantly making personal attacks
  • Constant vandalism
  • Constant incivility
  • Constant harassment
  • Constant spamming
  • Edit warring (especially with an admin without due cause)
  • Constantly violating the three principles
  • Accounts with inappropriate usernames

Durations for Blocking[]

Everyone besides blatant vandalism (e.g. removing page content for no reason) gets a warning first. Although if you have been on the wiki for longer you should know better; this can also dictate the duration or whether you receive a warning though this is based on the particular admin's discretion.

  • Inserting abuse or blanking pages etc.
    • 1st offence = warning
    • 2nd offence = 1 week block or more
    • 3rd offence = 3 months block or more
    • Futher offence? = 1 year block
  • Registered vandals:
    • 1st offence = warning
    • 2nd offence = 2 week block to a 1 year
    • Further offence? = infinite block
  • Problem users (personal attacks, disruption, disregarding policy):
    • Offence = warning
    • 3 warnings = a 2 week block
    • 2 blocks = 3 month block
    • Further offence? = infinite block
  • Sockpuppeting or using multiple usernames for the same person:
    • 1st offence = variable, either long or infinite
